March 2017 Journal

In my life this month…

Our home library is complete! It has been a complete joy to work, read, play, and live in this room. I look forward to making many memories hear with my family.

In our homeschool this month…

Do you ever find yourself feeling like quitting in February? This happens to me just about every year. I'm sure it's a combination of exhaustion, winter hibernation, and my allergies going crazy. When I feel like quitting, I love attending a homeschool convention. It seems like the Great Homeschool Convention always comes into town just when I need it.

I took my teens and my nieces with me, and we were all blessed. I loved hearing from authors of books I love, and the kids had fun hearing about planning for college. I left feeling recharged and ready to finish out the school year.

What We're Reading…

We finished up reading The Ember Falls by S.D. Smith, and everyone lamented the cliffhanger ending. We'll be eagerly awaiting the next installment in this series.

Even though we've read through C.S. Lewis's Narnia series in the past, we have a couple of kids in our home that haven't heard them all, so we've started back through the series. I don't think I could ever get tired of reading these stories with my kids...or make it through them without tearing up.

My older kids are enjoying the Wingfeather Saga by Andrew Peterson at night when we read together. I'm soaking up as much reading time as possible with my oldest. Thankfully, he still loves listening to a good story!

A photo, video, link, or quote to share…

One of the most inspirational speakers I've ever heard speak is Nick Vujicic. Born without arms and legs, Nick has learned to truly find contentment in the Lord in all circumstances. He travels the world sharing the gospel and inspiring joy filled living. If you've never heard him speak, he's worth

On my blog in case you missed it...

I shared a list of Fairy Tales that your princess will love to read.

One of my favorite additions to my new library is my Push Pin Travel Map. I love to look at it and dream of travel and pray for the world.

God provides such great resources for me to review on my blog. My favorite this month was the Pathways Reading and Language Arts materials. We've really enjoyed integrating our studies around our literature. It's really been a blessing.

Your home library is bright and cheerful – I love it! We don’t have big conventions in Wyoming, but I bet they are inspiring.

Loved your journal – wish I could keep mine short and sweet, lol. 🙂
