Look What’s New in Terrell, TX: Buc-ee’s
While driving to meet the in-laws to drop off the kids for "Camp Grandma" last week, we wanted to stop in and see the brand new Buc-ee's gas station just off of I-20, exit 498 in Terrell, TX. If you've never been, this is no ordinary destination for a pit stop.
If I'm ever traveling alone with kids, I never like to stop at shady gas stations. Usually I'll find a Wal-mart because it doesn't seem strange for a mom to walk in alone with her kids. I've also noticed that the older I get, the more I like to walk around a bit on travel breaks. Buc-ees offers the best options for a pit stop: huge bathrooms, nearly a million gas pumps, shopping, good eats, and thousands of square feet for walking around and stretching legs.
Let's start with shopping. This place has it all: clothing, food, camping gear, grills, decor, fine art, toys...you could get lost in the nooks and crannies of this establishment.
The food options are incredible and abundant. From the minute you step in the door, you smell the aroma of bar-b-que. I really wanted one of the sausage sandwiches.
We used the facilities, and they are massive and clean (sorry, no pictures there). Even if there was a line, it wouldn't last long.
This truly is a cool place to stop. You might not have a quick in-and-out, but you'll have an adventure!
