Be blessed.
Thanks!!
Do you ever have any discount coupons?
There are discount codes for people who have previously purchased charts or flashcards.
How can I just order the flashcards, and is there a sample I can see?
Looks like you found it – let me know if you have any other questions!
Hi there!
I do not have a stripe or a paypal account. Is there any way I can pay by Visa card?
I know for sure you don’t need to have an account with Stripe. You just use your credit card like normal. You will create your profile and add whatever billing method you would like to use.
Are you offering a discount at this time on the yearly subscription?
Unfortunately we are not. The quarterly subscription is only $24, and you can cancel at any time. You can sign up and even if you cancel the same day you will retain the access you paid for but won’t be charged again. Thanks for your interest in Latin with Andy!
Hi, are all lessons available for the entire year, or do they expire after a certain length of time? Can you view lessons more than once? Thank you for sharing this resource! I LOVE your vocabulary cards!
The membership gives you access to all resources for the term of your membership. You can watch them as many times as you want, or if you have multiple children in different levels, you can start wherever you like. It’s really just a resource library to use as a tool for your learning!
Would these be good lessons for a 7 & 9 yr old (starting our forth year in CC)
It would probably be a bit early. If you’ve made it through a year of Essentials, it will all make more sense. I’ll be sharing a resource in a couple of weeks that will be a great way to ease in to your Latin studies for younger Foundations students.
Thank you for your reply. Essential will be next yr 🙂
Heather, this goes over what they will be learning in Challenge, so I would start in Challenge A.
Would these lessons go well with the new Latin Workspace recommended in Challenge A?
Yes! They are just short videos demonstrating concepts from the exercises in Henle’s First Year Latin. The hope is that seeing the exercise demonstrated will help students understand how to do it with tips for getting the correct answer (and knowing why they’re right)!
We are starting Challenge A next year for my son who has severe dyslexia. How will this work in conjunction with his homework/work for CC in Latin each week?
Thanks so much
These videos just correlate with the exercises that you’re completing in the Henle book. So if you’re assigned a certain number of exercises for the week in Challenge A, you’d just watch the corresponding videos before you complete the exercise. Our goal was to help clear the fog of some of what is expected from each exercise so that you can just focus on the Latin and not always translating the instructions!
Can I view a sample somehow before committing to buy a membership? Thank you!
You can view all of Lesson 1 for free: https://familystyleschooling.com/lesson-1-1st-declension/
These are fantastic! Thank you for all your hard work! I noticed that the youtube vocabulary flashcard videos only go through Lesson 3. Do you plan to make videos for the other lessons? Or is there another place to look for other videos? They are extremely helpful with the pronunciation of the words! Thanks!
Andy has made some more of these, but we just need to upload them! Thanks for the reminder!
If I do the quarterly option and then decide that my daughter loves it and wants to commit to the year, can I use the quarterly payment I made toward changing it into a full year subscription? Thanks!
At this time we have not set up payments to work as an installment plan. That’s not exactly what this is, but similar. Though we understand this legitimate concern, our system is not set up for it. If it’s uncertain how your daughter would respond, I recommend simply going with the quarterly option and upgrading if she does love it. Sorry for any inconvenience!
having trouble registering/paying, says dprp is disabled for you’all. could you give me any advise??? thanks a bunch!!!
Sorry about that! You can either try the other payment option through Stripe, or email me which subscription you’d like, and I’ll send you a personal invoice for the term and set it up manually. betsy @ familystyleschooling.com
My son is headed into Challenge II for CC. Will the lessons correspond with what he is studying and how long do they take to watch?
The videos for Henle 2 are around 7-10 minutes, but cover multiple exercises from the Henle 2 text. There are also reference videos back to concepts from Henle 1 for review. We have the first 8 lessons uploaded at this point, but we should have the whole book completed by the end of September 2018.
Hi there,
Can I view a sample of what the videos are like before I buy a membership? Thank you!
Absolutely! You can check out the videos for Henle 1: Lesson 1 or the Henle 2: Lesson 1.
Hi… if I subscribe will my challenge a student be able to view Henle 1 and my challenge 2 student be able to view Henle 2?
Yes!
Hello! I have a challenge 2 and challenge A student. Does Andy have videos for level 2? Do you have printable quizzes and tests for A and 2?
Thanks!!
Andy does have videos for Henle 2, but only vocabulary quizzes/tests for Henle 1 at this point.
I have tried to print the documents the correlate with the lesson but I can’t. It says too many redirects. Can you help?
I just sent you an email with help!
My school district purchased a subscription for my son using my email, but they paid. They have a special homeschool program. They keep asking me for an invoice email from you. I haven’t seen one come through my emails. Can you resend me one or send one if you haven’t.
I just sent you an email with a link to the receipt. Let me know if you still don’t receive it.
We are a CC family. I was wondering if Andy goes thru every exercise ?
Danita,
Yes, Andy goes through every exercise “concept by concept”, which just means he explains the Henle concept using different vocabulary. Book one and about half of Henle 2 is complete!
Do you cover Henle II and in what order? I am in the CC Chalenge II program.
Thank you.
We currently have videos through Lesson 18 in Henle II. We are scheduled to release the next few lessons very soon. The Latin with Andy site is more of a resource site, so you can go in any order you want. All the videos are available to you, so no matter where you are in the CC program, you can access the exact videos you need. Andy takes you through each exercise and explains concept by concept. Hope that helps!
Thank you so much for making this astounding website my daughter has truly grown in latin thanks to y’all!!!
Hello, we forgot our password, and it is sending the reset email….thanks!
We have misplaced our login information. Would you be able to help us out? Thank you for your help and your wonderful resources.
You should have received a separate email from us about log in information from billing@latinwithandy.com. Let us know!
We are thinking about doing Challenge 1 for my son next Fall. He’s has no Latin background and hasn’t done CC before. Would this be appropriate in conjunction with the Henle 1 as a crash course between now and next Fall so he will be ready for Challenge 1, or do you have another suggestion to get him ready? Thanks
This will be a great resource! We actually created it to help my nephew who was joining Challenge 1 in the same way as your son. However, unless you LOVE Latin, you have to be okay with a slow and steady approach to learning. This will be a great way to get your feet wet, but have patience in the process! It takes time to learn! Focus on the grammar (how to form nouns and verbs) and vocabulary. Don’t drown in the exercises. He’ll be able to join in the conversations in class with no problem.
Hello Betsy,
I was telling a friend how wonderful this site is. She tried to sign up this weekend and told me that someone that she could not purchase because someone that already has this program has to give a promo code or gift it. Is this correct or is she on the right sight?
Thank you,
Jeni
She should be able to just register herself. If she has issues, contact billing (at) latinwithandy (dot) com. Sorry about the trouble!
Can I pay in any way other than PayPal or stripe? I do not have either of these accounts. I’d like to have the annual membership.
You don’t have to have an account with Stripe. You can use your credit card like you normally would. Feel free to contact billing@latinwithandy.com with any other questions you may have. Thanks for your interest in the resource!
I’d like to sign up for this, I see you offer a discount for those who have purchased cards and other study materials from you. I have, could you advise me?
The discount should be in the first pages of the file you purchased. If not, send me an email betsy (at) familystyleschooling (dot) com and I’ll send you the code.
Where do you find the hold punch you used on the vocabulary cards? What is it called?
It’s an Arc Punch – like they use in the disc planner systems. I got mine on Amazon: https://amzn.to/2EQI8mB
Just stumbled on this and it looks AMAZING. Kudos to Andy and you. We are not part of the CC family, will this be a problem with the lessons and work? My daughter is just starting Latin this year, 9th grade, and we are taking an extremely slow approach to wet her feet (Getting Started with Latin and the Vocabulary from Classical Roots books) but plan on ramping it up in 10th-12th. A few more questions…is the membership for a family or per person? And is there a schedule provided since I am not CC?
You definitely don’t need to be in CC to enjoy these. They just follow the Henle text book with teaching the concepts giving tips and tricks for tackling the study of Latin. It is a resource library that your whole family can use. You just jump in where you want, go at your own pace, and review as much as you need to. If you’re looking for a schedule, I recommend Memoria Press’s Henle Latin 1 Teacher Manual. It gives you assignment ideas and a pace to get you through the main content. I also really like this resource because it is an easier to read and more thorough answer key to the Henle text.
I’m planning to sign up for the year. I have a Ch2 aged student but Ch2 is not available here. We also didn’t do Ch1 but did do ChA and ChB. Do the videos do every lesson in the Henle book or follow the CC assignments? I had my son work on some this summer and do every lesson because I felt that CC went through them too quickly, but would love for him to be able to follow along for every lesson. Also does the subscription cover everything you offer? I’m thinking he doesn’t need to start at the beginning and he may be starting Henle 2 before the end of the year’s subscription. Thanks for your help!
Latin with Andy is like a resource library, so when you register, you gain access to all the videos and printables all at once. What that essentially means is that you can take whatever pace you would like to take. Along with our new Code Breaker series for beginners, there are videos for every exercise in both the Henle 1 and 2 books (over 500 videos with video companion guides). You will have access to all the printables as well, including noun declension charts, verb conjugation charts, complete vocabulary flash cards for Henle 1, principle parts quizzes, vocabulary quizzes, and other fun extras. The LWA resource does not follow the CC Guide, so go at the pace that fits you, and start where you want!
I was thinking about purchasing Latin with Andy for the year, I was wondering how is it different than all the videos you can find on Youtube?
The videos on YouTube are only the Code Breakers series and some vocabulary videos. All the Henle Lesson exercises are within the membership site
This kid is awesome. I have tested it for a few weeks. Is there any way to convert from quarterly to yearly? Don’t worry. You will have me for a few years (I have 6 kids).
-Darin
So glad the resource has been helpful! You can upgrade to a yearly by going to My Account after you log in. You will need to know if you paid through PayPal or Stripe – scroll down and you will see links to “Upgrade to a yearly membership here.” Hope that helps!
I’m trying to join quarterly and I can’t get it to go through. I keep getting an error message. I sent an email yesterday but never heard anything about it. Can someone please help me get signed up?? Thanks!
Sorry about that! Try checking your spam box. For some reason billing@latinwithandy.com gets put there. That’s the email the response came from (sent yesterday).
It wasn’t in my junk folder either😖
I forwarded the email to you. You may be getting a “DPRP error” message. If so, it is a fairly rare error on the PayPal side, but most people have success using the Stripe option (you don’t need a Stripe account or anything – just use your credit card like normal). Hope that helps!
If I purchase a quarterly membership can I upgrade to a yearly membership by paying the difference?
Yes, you can upgrade. If you purchase a quarterly membership and upgrade, your yearly membership time will be added on to the end of your quarterly membership time. For instance, if you register for the quarterly membership on October 1, and then upgrade, your yearly membership will start January 1. Hope that helps!
Do you have to use PayPal or Venmo? Can you pay with credit card? Thank you!
Subscribers need to use either PayPal or Stripe. Stripe is actually the easiest option, especially for those who do not use PayPal. You do not need a Stripe membership or anything. Simply use your credit card like normal. Thanks!
Hi Betsy,
I have several questions…when I subscribe do I get the video lessons as well as the code breaker ones too? Will there be links to these lessons in an easy to follow format? And do you have lessons for all of the Units in Henle One?
Andy does a fabulous job making Latin accessible but also enjoyable. The Code Breaker videos are exactly what we need in addition to his lessons.
Thank you both.
Laurel Johnson
Thanks for asking! Yes, when you subscribe, you get all the video lessons. We have a video for every exercise in every Lesson for every Unit, and this for both Henle 1 and 2! Everything is laid out by Book, then Unit, then Lesson and you have access to everything all at once (and each video is embedded, so you don’t go to a separate site to see them). The advantage to this is that you can start wherever you want, go back and review if you need, and even preview wherever you’re interested. In addition, you have access to a Printables page where you can find video companion guides for every video. That includes the Code Breakers Series as well. Non-members can pay for the Code Breakers sheets separately, but they come with the membership. Printables also included vocabulary guides, conjugation and declensions, and even some stories and biblical passages to look at, with more on the way! I’m so glad the Code Breaker videos have been helpful! You are more than welcome to email us at billing@latinwithandy.com with any other questions as well. Hope that helps!
We are currently doing “Latin for Children” by Dr. Aaron Larsen (with Veritas) will these videos still help?
Thanks!
Kim
Thanks for asking! I appreciate your interest. The Latin with Andy was designed to follow along with Robert Henle’s Latin program. Because of this, you may find our videos helpful in the near future, since Dr. Larsen’s program targets the 4th – 6th grade range. The Henle program and Latin with Andy both target 7th grade through 12th grade students. If you would like, I have also created a short course to help students in the 4th – 6th grade range. Latin with Andy “Codebreakers” is free to watch on YouTube and supplementary worksheets and exercises to go with them can be purchased for $10. Try Latin with Andy Codebreakers out and see if you would like to continue on to Henle, and our program. If you do choose Latin with Andy, know that we have a video to explain every exercise in the Henle book, all the way through 10th grade material! Whatever you choose, I wish you the best!
Does Andy teach all 42 lessons of Henle First Year Latin?
Yes! He also has videos for all of the lessons for Henle Second Year. They’re all included in the membership!
Is there a way for me to give a gift subscription? I would like to make it for one year. If my friend likes it, she can renew next year if she wishes to do so. Thanks for your help!
Absolutely! There is a form in the FAQ page: https://familystyleschooling.com/gift-12-month-membership/
Let us know if you have any questions. You can also email us at billing@latinwithandy.com
Is a child finishing second grade too young to start Andys Latin program?
Thanks for asking! I might suggest having a look at the Code Breaker series. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL4nxGhn5RAxFEo7WGmJ9R9D71CiS8DS9B
They are a great introductory series to give an overview. A Latin with Andy membership gives you access to additional resources including a companion guide for the Code Breakers series. In addition, whenever you are ready, the Latin with Andy membership is like a resource library, where you can go at whatever pace you want. I hope that helps!
My daughter is in Challenge 1 and using Henle. Does he go through Henle in its entirety?
Thanks, Lynn
Andy goes through both Henle books 1 and 2! There is a video and video companion guide for EVERY exercise in both books. In addition, you get a ton of printable downloads to help with vocabulary, translation, and other grammatical issues.
Hello! My daughter is just finishing Ch. B, but is losing her like for Latin. I’d like to restore that by slowing down Latin and using something different. Can Latin for Andy stand alone, or is it to used in conjunction with CC and the Henle text?
Latin with Andy is like a resource library. Andy makes the Henle information fun and engaging. All the videos are based on the Henle Lessons and exercises. In fact, there’s a video for every exercise in both the Henle 1 and Henle 2 books. There are video companion guide worksheets for each video and tons of other PDF printable pages with other helps. So Latin with Andy was created with Henle students in mind. While Andy explains each and every Henle concept, our recommendation is to continue to use it in conjunction with the Henle books. If your daughter understands the types and examples Andy gives for a given grammar principle, then she should be able to go back to the Henle book with confidence and do the exercises there. I agree with scaling the work however you feel is best. If you need to slow down, then definitely slow down. Her confidence in the basic grammar principles will go a long way!
How do I subscribe for 2 students? One is in Henle 1 and a the other in Henle 2.
Cheryl,
If you are referring to two students in your houshold, you only need one (shared account)! Latin with Andy is set up like a resource library and they can both be in different places at the same time. I hope that helps!
Can Andy/Henle be used for the required 2 years of a second language? How do we track it properly for high school credit?
Sue,
Yes, since Latin with Andy tracks with the Henle books, students can get their required 2 years of a second language. Andy takes students all the way through both Henle books 1 and 2, with resources for beyond, if desired. As you probably know, grade tracking is flexible as a homeschooler. I’d say track it as you might track a math or science book – by Lesson, but don’t get hung up on the time. You may be able to spread out your two years. You can also consider what it might look like to give a completion grade based on your expectations. If there’s a specific college in mind, consider what they’re requirements are as well.
I hope that helps!
Hi! I am interested in your videos for my Challenge A son. I watched a few online but find the music in the background distracting. Do you offer videos without that music? Thank you!!
The videos that have music in the background are the CodeBreaker videos. These were created to be a fun, simple introduction to Latin. All the videos we have for both the Henle 1 and Henle 2 books do not have music in the background. Let us know if you have any questions about what the Latin with Andy resource library includes!
Is there a way to preview a lesson before deciding to join the membership?
Absolutely! You should see “try out Lesson 1 for free” at the bottom of the green box entitled “Important Note” here on the Registration page
Andy, you are a gifted communicator and teacher!
We are new to CC and Latin and found the first 2 weeks of Challenge A Latin to be….veeeeerrrrry challenging. My son was really engaged by the Code Breakers videos, not quite sure he’s even ready for the short ones for Challenge A. If I purchase the subscription, will it include the worksheets for the Codebreakers videos or do I have to buy them separately? Thanks!
Glad he enjoys the CodeBreakers videos! Yes, the membership includes the worksheets, so you wouldn’t purchase them separately as a member.a
Do the Latin with Andy videos work on an IPad?
Yes, the videos will work on an iPad or other portable device. Yay! 🙂
I just purchased the Code Breakers Supplement Lessons and then found this area of the website. If I purchase a subscription, am I repurchasing something I already paid for?
The CodeBreakers videos are only on YouTube (those are free), but yes, the Supplemental Materials are included as a part of the membership. Feel free to email lwabilling@gmail.com after you subscribe and we’ll get you a full refund for what you’ve already purchased.
Latin with Andy has been a tremendous help in our family. I love how each lesson in Codebreakers is broken up into bite-size chunks. The worksheets allow us to put pen-to-paper figuring it out. Together with my 13 year old and 10 year old sons, we are making our way through the lessons and learning so much! This is a great precursor to the Henle Lessons.
Thank you, Andy! You are one cool kid!
🙂
I’m so glad Codebreakers have been a blessing to you and your family! Thank you so much for your encouragement!
hi I just found your site:)
I am struggling with latin in challenge A. I have downloaded the codebreakers printables. Will following your codebreakers videos and guide help us through henley 1 ? How does your subscription site differ from the code breakers thank you so much for this resource. jen
Thanks for asking! The CodeBreakers materials/videos is like an onramp for the beginner Latin student. They cover lessons 1-5 roughly. The rest of the videos cover each exercise in both Henle 1 and Henle 2. There are hundreds of other printable materials and a private FaceBook page to interact with Andy and hundreds of other Henle Latin students. I hope that helps!
this is awesome!!!!!!!! thanks Andy!
We are having trouble with the videos. The message we are getting is that the site might be temporarily down or may have moved. Are yall having any complications on your end?
Sorry for the troubles! We don’t see any issues on our end. You could try on a different browser or try refreshing? You can also email to lwabilling@gmail.com if you have any further technical questions. Thanks!
these videos have been sooooooooooooo helpful thank you so much for the help it has been very beneficial to us!
Hi Latin with Andy. So, I have always struggled with distinguishing when the pronouns have the same ending as the word they modify (Amicōs nosotrōs) or when you just use the regular pronoun. Hopefully that makes sense. I probably worded some of that wrong lol.
Thanks
-Ivy
Great question! For the most part, regular pronouns are used in places you would need a noun, and the adjective version (like nostros) is used to modify other nouns. The one time you would need to decide between the two is in scenarios where you are trying to express expression. Here you could use “nostros”, (the adjective version when it is modifying a noun with an -os ending), or you could use nostrum, (the pronoun version). Both of these mean the same thing, so you could choose either one. Remember to watch situations where you would use the pronoun version or the adjective version! Good luck!
Thank you so much!
Is there anyway we can get an answer key to the worksheets? For example, lesson 1 first declension
Thanks for asking! I have one in progress right now! However, it might not be done until the end of this summer.
If I purchase the subscription, do the ads go away, or are there ads on the membership portion of the site as well?
Thanks for asking! No, there are no ads in the membership areas.
Hello!
Your resource was recommended to me by a friend. We are in our 2nd year of CC and I have 4 kiddos, ages 11, 9, 9, and 6. Would this resource be good for my oldest who is almost finished with her 2nd year of essentials? If it’s a little early, what resources, such as vocabulary cards, etc. might you recommend? Thanks!
Hi there! Sorry for the delayed response! Latin with Andy is intended for students entering Challenge A, but you may find your student would like to get a bit of a headstart in Henle before Challenge A. If not, you could always check out my Code Breakers series, which is specifically designed for 4th-6th grade students and introduces Latin in a fun and enjoyable way. It is also free to watch on my Latinwithandy Youtube channel! Code Breakers is a 5 week series (it’s all really at your own pace), and if you end up enjoying it, you can purchase the $10 worksheets that go along with Code Breakers and give students some vocabulary and exercises to work on to enhance the experience. I hope you find this helpful! Let me know if you have any more questions!
My son did Challenge A and B with CC but there isn’t a Challenge 1 community where we moved to. Where would we pick up at with the videos?
Good question! In the CC guide, Challenge 1 actually starts students over at lesson one, and over the course of the year, works through the whole book. My suggestion to you would be to make as much progress as you can over the year, but don’t feel bad if the whole book in a year. When I did Challenge 1, I think I just made it through lesson 26ish, which was plenty to take me to Henle 2, since many of the concepts repeat in the next book. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have more questions!
where do i buy the beginning course with Latin with Andy ? We are new to CC this year ( Challenge 1) and need help badly with Latin !
Thanks
Kendra here’s some more info for you. Thanks for your interest! https://familystyleschooling.com/join-the-latin-learning-community
What’s with the lightning in the excersiceeee
Fun little easter egg isn’t it? 🙂
Do you have a course that would be good prep for a 3rd year essentials student prior to entering Challenge A? Something not too time intensive but would make Latin not such a struggle in Challenge A?
Yes we do! We created an introductory Latin series called Code Breakers that I think you would really enjoy! It takes the basic elements of Latin and teaches them in a fun and engaging way. All the videos are free to watch on Youtube, with free downloadable video companion guides. You can find them on my Youtube channel, also called Latin with Andy, or you can read more about Code Breakers here: https://familystyleschooling.com/2019/07/29/latin-with-andy-code-breakers/
Hello Betsy and Andy! I have searched through the comments, but don’t see an answer for my question. I’m preparing to direct Challenge 3 and then Challenge 4 starting the following year…and I’m curious if you have Henle 3 in the works?
Then another unusual question: I have a student joining who’s never taken Latin. I would like to recommend a translation to her for the reading so that she can still enjoy the writings of Caesar and Cicero without being overwhelmed with translating anything. Do you happen to have a recommendation for a translation that most easily aligns with Henle so that she can be part of the discussions?
Hello! Thanks for your questions! Unfortunately, we are not planning on creating content for Henle 3. Part of the reason for this is that a majority of the lessons taught there (if not all) are repeats of content from Henle 2. Hopefully, that will make it easier to teach! However, if you haven’t yet, you should join our facebook group. There you can ask any specific questions you might have about Henle 3 content (confusing sentences, difficult concepts etc) and I’ll answer your questions personally!
For your new student, if you are wanting them to partake in the wonders of Caesar’s and Cicero’s writings, my suggestion would be for them to work with “The Helvetian Drive to the West,” from Henle 2. Instead of having them translate, however, have them essentially read through the answer key while observing the Latin so they can start to get an idea of what’s going on. I also have videos on my youtube channel that walk through the story of The “Helvetian Drive,” so they can watch those too.
Henle 3 is mostly preparing students for Cicero translation, but I think the best strategy for helping your student feel like they can participate in discussions is to just have them begin their Latin learning journey from the beginning. If they don’t want the full Latin with Andy program, I’d suggest they try out my free Codebreakers series on Youtube, which walks through the basics of Latin. Then in class, they can participate by pointing out what they know. Even the basics show up in Cicero’s work!
Anyway, I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have more questions or thoughts!
Thank you! I’ll definitely join the Facebook page… I think that will be very helpful. Appreciate all you do!
thank you so much i really struggle with latin but this helps
I’m trying to get a feel for how the material is arranged and whether or not my son would easily be able to tell what video/resource to use when.
Specifically, I’m wondering if there’s a particular Challenge B section in the resources? Is there a video for each day? Or each week? How would my son know what video to play to correlate with what the CC guide says to do?
Great questions! The Latin with Andy videos are arranged as a “resource library,” which means you can pick and choose to watch videos without needing much context from the other videos. We have made a short unique video for every lesson and every exercise in the Henle Latin 1 and 2 textbooks. So all your son will need to do is check which exercises his guide says to work on, and then watch the videos that are named after those exercises! If you decide to join, you’d also have access to a closed Facebook group, where your son can ask me personally any questions he might have about the Latin language. Let me know if you have any more thoughts or questions!
I am also wondering about Challenge B. Would my child watch multiple videos a day that were made for Challenge A or are there videos just for Challenge B? And how many videos do you watch a day?
Thank you in advance!!
Great questions! You would probably watch multiple videos a day, but only as many as your Challenge guide requests, or as your pace allows. The nice thing is our videos average about 7 minutes long, so it doesn’t take long to get a good hold of the concepts presented in an exercise. There are no videos specifically for Challenge A or Challenge B, but the videos are labeled after the exercises. For example, if your student read in their Challenge guide that they needed to complete Henle exercises 100-105, then they would watch Latin with Andy videos 100-105 and then complete the exercises in the Henle book. In my own experience, since the Challenge guide was asking for completing a lot of exercises, at one point my mom had me complete the even-numbered questions of each exercise rather than the full thing so that I could focus on learning the concepts. Pace is an important question, but our videos are made to accommodate whatever speed you would like to approach the Latin language! Feel free to reach out to me through email if you’d like to talk some more about this!
Hi. I have a CC Challenge 1 student and was wondering if your subscription offers lesson and exercise insight for Henle First Year edition.
Hello! Yes, our subscription has a lot to offer for Henle year one. We have a video for every single lesson and exercise in Henle 1, (including a video for every exercise in Henle 2 when your student moves on to Challenge 2). We also offer access to a private facebook group where your student can ask me whatever questions they have. If you want, I also have some free vocab helps for Henle 1 on my latinwithandy youtube channel, as well as a free introduction to Latin called “Codebreakers!” Let me know if you have more questions!
Hi! I cannot seem to pay for my subscription without using PayPal. Is PayPal the only way you can subscribe? I have subscribed before but it was a few years ago and had to set up a new account.
Thanks for your attention to this.
Thanks for the question! Yes, right now, PayPal is the payment platform we are using. You should still be able to use your credit card no problem though. Also, when your previous membership closed, all your information is deleted. We do not keep user information after the membership closes, so when you subscribe, you will need to register as if you were a new user. The good thing is that you can re-use your previous username and password if you like!
So helpful
Hello! I just joined Rooted Minds as a free member. I am looking to purchase a subscription to the the Latin with Andy series for my Challenge A daughter. Is the material offered here just the LWA videos? I saw the $15/mo fee over at Rooted Minds has more things offered. Just checking before I purchase – thank you!
Hi Lisa! That’s excellent, and thanks for checking! Yes, all the Latin with Andy material (videos, printables, etc) has been moved over to the Rooted Minds Learning Community. Everything you would get on this site and more is offered over there. It’s still set up like a resource library, organized per Henle book Lessons. You are welcome to ask any questions in our community over there as well! Thanks for your interest!
