Score Big with this Pool Float Storage

We've canceled all of our summer trips due to the changing times. So we decided that it would be fun to clean up some of the less used portions of our back yard. Our previous pool float storage method was limited. We wanted a solution that would hold the floats in place while allowing for easy access and clean up. Our solution: an upside down soccer goal. It works like a dream!

Pool Float Storage Fail

I had scoured Pinterest for ideas for pool float storage and I kept finding expensive solutions. There were lots of bungee cord solutions, which we had tried before. The challenge with this was that the bungee cords would really only hold one float at a time, and it took effort to put them up...therefore they didn't always get put away. That was a problem.

The bungee cords only lasted a season as well. I wanted a longer term solution. Enter my little construction master, her dad, and their muscles. Since the grass in that section was small and didn't grow very well, they got a load of rock and ensured they wouldn't need to mow there anymore!

Pool Float Storage with an Old Soccer Goal

This made a perfect landing place for our pool float storage. As we were cleaning, my husband pulled out the old soccer goal that was hiding in a back corner of the yard. He wanted to throw it out. I wondered if we could just hang that upside-down to create a bin for our pool floats. It worked!

We simply got two screw-in bike hooks to attach the soccer goal to the fence and let the top of the soccer goal rest on the ground. This way you can remove the goal easily if needed.

When we unhook each side, the net lays easily on the ground. This allows access to all of the contents of the bin. This is great for me as I'm short. Generally I wouldn't be able to access anything at the bottom of the net.

When you're finished swimming for the day, throw all the pool toys in the net. Then hook each side back to the fence.

I'm so excited to have a place to keep our big floats that will help us all keep the backyard toys tamed!

Our back yard has been a wonderful place for us to dream, learn, and grow together. More projects are on the horizon. I look forward to sharing them soon!

I have no idea how old this is, but I just love this idea! We have big pool floats too and have tried many contraptions. I will definitely be trying this!

Was this a full size goal or a kids size?
