Growing a Salad Garden Box
When I was talking with my garden mentor about what to plant, she gave me the idea to plant a salad garden. There is nothing more rewarding than going out in the back yard and picking fresh vegetables to eat.
So here's my square foot garden plan:
It's still early in the season, so not everything is ready for harvesting, but I was thrilled to be able to see the fruit of my garden in my first meal! My first harvest included radish, spinach, kale, and bibb lettuce.
With the surprising amount of rain we've received this season, the plants have responded differently than I expected. My pretty little garden plan has been overtaken by the squash!
I can't wait to see how my garden grows the rest of the summer!
