What is Rooted Minds?
Rooted Minds is a supportive and inclusive online community dedicated to enhancing your learning experience. Whether you're homeschooling or just looking for a place to learn yourself, we offer engaging content, valuable resources, and a joyful learning environment to help you thrive!!

It all started with the Latin Language

Once upon a time, Latin with Andy was born
What originally started as videos to help family with a tough language became a beautiful community focused on learning Latin together.
Throughout our time teaching and sharing the joy of Latin, we've learned a lot of lessons ourselves!
It feels good to know you're not alone.
We have only grown in our belief that with the right community, anything is possible! Encouragement and joy are vital elements of the learning process.
That's why we are making community our mission
The Rooted Minds Learning Community is focused on three things:

This sounds great but I’m wondering if you go into Henle third year as my oldest is in Challenge 3 this year
We do not currently get into third-year Henle since it’s almost purely translation of Cicero. However, I really enjoyed translating it when I was in Challenge 3, so if you want, you could always join the free “community access” plan of Rooted Minds and join the free space we have called “The Forum.” (I called it that cause that’s where people would go to talk in Roman times). It’s just a free space to ask Latin questions and talk about what you’re learning. If your oldest has questions about Cicero translations or other Latin questions, I’d be happy to help them out personally there!
A few days ago, my automatic quarterly Latin with Andy subscription was renewed. Can I apply that to the Rooted Minds subscription?
Hi! Thanks for your interest! Since they are separate systems, we can’t right now, but I’m happy to refund you if you would like to join over there. I’ll send you an email about it. 🙂
Hello! I just subscribed to rooted latin with Andy. I got into the app and was looking for what my son is doing right bow in Challenge 1 and it looks like it gets cut off right where he is. He’s really been struggling and I bought this hoping the videos would help. It is week 13 of challenge 1 in Classical Conversations. Henle Latin first year, Lesson 27-28. But your lessons go through till 26. Will this resource help us? Do I need to get my money back?
Hi! Thanks for your patience while I set up the rest of the lessons. All lessons and exercises in both Henle 1 and Henle 2 are available to watch now! And I’m always on Rooted Minds, so if your son ever has questions about what he’s working on, let him know he can ask me there! 🙂
Hello! My Challenge 2 class has thoroughly enjoyed your video drawing/explanations on YouTube of ‘The Helvetian Drive to the West.’ We watch them every week after we’ve shared translations as a fun way to recap it all and help my visual learners. Do you happen to have something like that for ‘Revolt Along the Seacost’ & ‘First Invasion of Britain’?
Hi! That makes me so happy to hear! I made them as a fun way for me to learn, since my brain thinks best in stories. I love that it has been helping your class! As of now, I don’t have anything for the Revolt or First Invasion, but I have considered it in the past. Comments like these help me to learn what actually sounds helpful to people, so thank you for your interest!
Very interested in joining mainly for the Latin with Andy. I see you have a ‘course’ on Greek alphabet, do you have plans on having a course on learning Greek? If so, what program will you be teaching from?
Hi! Yes, I do have a course on the Greek alphabet, as well as an introduction to Greek verbs that I released recently. The goal is to build it up as its own course. I don’t have a program that I’m following in the same way as Latin with Andy. However, I have essentially been creating a synthesis of five different textbooks that I have learned from. Thanks for your interest!
Hi! I would like some more information on the Codebreakers curriculum for 5th/6th graders. Do I subscribe to the Rooted Minds for that? Is there a one-time annual fee?
Hi! Good question – the Codebreakers videos themselves are actually completely free. If you join with the “free community plan”, you’ll have access to all of our free content, including all of Codebreakers and a space to ask questions. The worksheets that go along with it are included in our all-access plan which is $15/month. With this plan you get access to all of our courses, including all of our Latin with Andy content, as well as our new art, biblical greek and hebrew, and music courses.
Let me know if you have more questions!
