Free Printable: Key Ring Math Facts Flashcards
Math facts have been an important part of any student's education for a long time. It seems we try to find ways around "rote memory", but watching my son beat me in solving math problems while I'm trying to figure the answer out on my calculator has fully convinced me that these facts are vital to success in upper math. Therefore, I'm not giving up on drilling my girls in their math facts until it becomes like breathing to them to solve 8 x 6.

As a part of our Classical Conversations memory work, every year we memorize math facts. For kids younger than 10, we skip count, but once they are old enough, they memorize their times tables. This time of year we are preparing for Memory Master, which challenges students to recite all of their memory work for the entire year. My son loved the math recitation. He could go through the times tables at top speed with great accuracy without really batting an eye. I thought my daughters would do the same.
I was wrong.
My second child could talk circles around my son. She is insightful in ways that he is not. However, math doesn't gel in her brain like it did his. When we prepared for memory master last year, we hand wrote all of our math facts on to flash cards to help her study and succeed in memorizing all of them. Thankfully, she made it, but this year I thought we'd jazz it up with some colorful and fun flash cards that aren't as tedious to lug around.
The printable includes all of the math facts starting with 1 x 1, and ending with 15 x 15.
Print these out on heavy cardstock front and back, then cut them out. If you want them even more sturdy, you can laminate them. I punched a hole in the side and put them on a key ring so that we wouldn't lose any. This makes them easy to take with us wherever we're going to get more math fact practice!
Some tips on cutting:
- Cut 1" off of the bottom of the page (where the website link is located)
- Cut 1/4" off each side
- Flash cards are 1.5" x 3.5"
- Use a portable paper cutter to make straight and even cuts

Yes! Please send me the link to print these — can I have them printed at Staples easily? I just don’t want them to print out my 15s on the back of my 3s! Thank you SO much for doing this work for us!
Yes! Just tell them you want them printed double sided on the short edge. It’s pretty fun!

What am I doing wrong? I can’t seem to get these Flashcards to print with the answer on the back.
They are set up to print double sided- flip on the short side…it’s the printer setting I use.
It took about 10 minutes to receive the e-mail after subscribing but the 2nd e-mail came immediately. When using Chrome it would just go to a blank loading screen with waiting for drive.google.com in the lower left. I decided to use IE and it had me log in and I am now able to print.
I followed the directions in previous post using double sided printing on short edge and it is printing correctly.
Thank you for this. I need these for college. I know my times tables to 12 but now they want them to 15 for college.
Thanks for persevering! Have fun working on your times tables!
This might be something I should know already, but HOW do you use these? I mean do you just practice one set of facts for a certain period of time each day? For how many days? When do you know it’s time for to have your student learn the next set of facts? I don’t know how much to throw at my kids and how hard to push them. This is something I’ve struggled with for years! I have a 5th grader, 3rd grader and 1st grader.
Great question! We learn skip counting songs until my kids are 10, then they start working more on multiplication facts. We work on a fact family (like the 2s or 3s) for 5-10 minutes each day until they master them. Then we move on to the next group of facts to memorize. Maybe one day a week we’ll go back to the ones we’ve mastered to review. I’ve been amazed at how much kids can do with constant practice for just a few minutes a day!
Would love these. Thx

These look like they are EXACTLY what I have been looking for! Unfortunately something is weird with the way my page is displaying. There is a picture overlapping the boxes where I am supposed to enter my e-mail and name, so the “enter” or “submit” button is covered and I can’t submit the info. Are you able to see my e-mail address when I comment, and could you send them, Please? Thanks so much for sharing this resource!!

Thank you!! Any chance you have these in addition 1-15?
Yes! Here they are: https://familystyleschooling.com/2016/10/23/math-facts/
Thank you so much for this! I am hopeful this will help my daughter memorize her facts better.
I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong but when I print double-sided, the answer side prints upside down. Do you have any suggestions?
Make sure to click “flip on short edge” when you’re printing. If you have a Mac, it’s called “short-edge binding” under the “layout” settings of your printer.
