Henle 2 Resources on Latin with Andy
If learning Latin with my kids has taught me anything, it's that you're never too old to ask for help. I've had to do a lot of that. Thankfully, though, seeking help from each other is a wonderful way to build relationship—something that is especially important with highschool students. Today I want to share with you a taste of our upper-level Latin helps for highschoolers, included in The Rooted Minds Learning Community: Henle 2 Resources! We've worked hard to extend our Latin learning resource library for those who want to continue to pursue learning this ancient language. You can preview the first two lesson resources below for FREE!
If you're curious about how my son and I got to this point, creating videos together (and thus spending a lot of time working on relationship together), read the story behind Latin with Andy. You might find it interesting.

Do you maybe have answer key or solutions for exercises of all lessons?
The videos are the solutions to Andy’s worksheets. The sheets are really just a tool for taking notes while you watch the videos!
When will Henle 2 be available to join?
It’s already included in Latin with Andy – just under the welcome video, you’ll see Andy’s logo with a “2” next to it. That is where all of the Henle 2 videos are located. If you’re already a member, you can click here to jump in!
Hi! Will you be continuing the Henle 2 lessons?
Crissy,
Yes! We have already started and have made it through Lesson 22. We hope to have the rest posted by the end of November!
how do i purchase the latin with andy henle latin 2?
The Latin with Andy resource is all-access to everyone who subscribes. It includes access to both Henle 1 and Henle 2 videos, so that you can go back and forth, watching what you need at the time, referencing earlier portions when necessary. I hope that make sense! Simply go to http://www.latinwithandy.com and register! Thanks for your interest!
Hi, I’m assuming that your lessons here are different then the ones available on your YouTube channel? I don’t want to “take advantage” of those if they aren’t supposed to be available for free.
Yes, videos on the membership site are different than the ones on the YouTube channel (those are the CodeBreakers videos for beginners). The videos on the membership site match directly with Henle 1 and Henle 2. Thanks for checking!
I am considering tutoring ch 2 and haven’t really had much formal Latin except for what I learned in A. Do you feel like these videos can help me navigate through Henle 2 even if I haven’t had all of Henle 1?
Since Latin with Andy is set up like a resource library, I would say yes! You will find links back to Henle 1 videos for any review needed as you go through Henle 2. The Henle books reference what grammar needs to be known as well, so I’d say you would do great! You may even be able to get the students to teach you some Henle 1 concepts as well. 🙂
If my child watches every video of Andy’s lessons along with his homework with Classical Conversations in Challenge 2, about how many minutes each day will he watch? I want to see how much room I need to make in his daily schedule.
It all depends on how many exercises your student will be working on per day. However, my videos average to about 7-8 minutes per video, so watching through three or four of them should at minimum take about 30 minutes. It’s all up to you though!
Do you provide the same level of vocabulary introduction/review for Henle II and you do for Henle I (spoken in both Latin and English and any derivatives)?
Good question! Unfortunately I do not have vocab videos for Henle 2. Since most of Henle 2 vocabulary overlaps with Henle 1, I like to encourage students to find derivatives on their own and seek to find fun ways to remember the vocabulary. All of my vocabulary videos I offer can be found on my youtube channel as well. If your student needs a good resource for finding derivatives, check out latin-dictionary.net!
Do you have all of Henle 2 on video lessons now? I don’t want to sign up unless you do. I will be a Challenge III director in the fall and can use all the help I can get. What about Henle 3? Any thoughts on that and the translations?
Yes, we have all lessons and exercises for Henle 2 along with many helps for Henle 3. Andy wrote a couple of stories in Latin for upper-level students to practice on before Cicero and Caesar, etc. We also have the OT book of Jonah in Latin with translations. This along with other printables and helps. Also, since the site is set up like a library, you can easily go back and forth to be reminded of anything at any time. Andy is always available on Facebook (along with the FB community) or via email as well. I hope that helps!
Forgive me, but I’m confused about the Latin II content. I don’t see any of the problems from Henle II exercises in the videos. Are these problems he’s working on supplementary? Or is there another edition of Henle II? Thank you!
Hi! Good question! The goal of every one of our videos is to teach the concepts taught in the exercises without doing the specific work of the exercise (this protects Henle’s copyright!). I do my best to equip you in every way you can to tackle the exercises on your own! And as always, you can ask whatever questions you might have as you learn. 🙂
