It's hot outside, and we're spending most of every day in the pool! If you have swimmers at your house, you know hungry those little swimmers become in no time. Usually we have popsicles to share with friends who come over to swim, but today we ramped it up for cousins. With just a little bit of fruit, chocolate, and whipped cream, you can create an awesome treat with holiday flare.
The other day I was eating some chopped up pineapple, and I threw some m & m's in to add a little chocolate to my treat. The juice from the pineapples started melting the candy and turned my pineapples into fun colors. I thought it would be fun to try patriotic m&m's for a Fourth of July treat!
Since I couldn't find the red, white, and blue candies in the regular store, I just bought plain m&m's and separated out the red and blue candies. This worked like a charm.
While the juices started working on the candy, I chopped up some chocolate Oreo thins, strawberries, and more m&m's. The treats are easy to put together, and they look really cute in these little glass dessert bowls.
I think these patriotic sprinkles and the cherry on top are my favorite things!
You could really add whatever toppings you like to these simple treats. Even though this still qualifies as a sweet treat, I love that the major feature is fruit. You better eat it fast though, because it will melt!
I love the simplicity of summer. It's so fun to share good times by the pool with friends and family.
