Christmas Sweets & Treats that are Super Easy

I love Christmas sweets and treats, but I don't love recipes that require complicated precision in order to create them.  I'm just not very successful with that kind of baking.  When Christmas time rolls around, I love cooking with my kids and not worrying about getting things perfect.  It's part of giving the gift of my presence during the holidays.

Christmas Sweets Tradition

Each year I make a Pinterest board of Christmas sweets and treats for the kids to pick a goodie to make with me.  If the treat is simple, I'm not so worried about messing something up, or allowing the kids to take the lead.  All I need to do is provide the materials and help them with their inspiration.  I've found that there is nothing that a little bit of Christmas sprinkles can't fix.  Each year we might add to our cookie cutter collection, but most often the kids pick treats that are easy to make and yummy to eat!  I though I'd share my kids' picks this year, and then some others that meet my criteria of super easy, tasty, and cute!

Will's choice:

This year Will picked...

Christmas Sweets - Eggnog Cookies These are a sophisticated choice for my teenager in training.  Amy's Healthy Baking offers Eggnog Snickerdoodles that are sure to be a family favorite.

Ellen's Choice:

Ellen is usually my wild card.  I never know what way she will lean, or if she'll change her mind before I have a chance to gather the ingredients.  That's one of the reasons I love her.  This year was no different.  In stead of picking one, she opted for three...

Christmas Sweets - Candy Cane Kiss Cookies

Since the first was really just a treat, she wanted a cookie option too.  These Candy Cane Kiss Cookies from Sally's Baking Addiction caught her eye.  She's not a huge fan of the peppermint, but Sally's cookies inspire creativity, so she's already thinking of how she will put her own spin on these sweet treats.  I can't wait to sample them!

Christmas Sweets Rice Crispy Ornaments

Her third treat is sure to brighten up our Christmas treat display.  These Christmas Ornament Rice Krispie Creations from Crazy Brain Creations on Etsy are such a fun twist to rice krispie treats.  We're going to make a big mess with these, but it will be tons of fun!

Nana's Choice:

Nana gets a choice, but Will has offered to make it for her.  Here's what she's requesting...

Christmas sweets - melted snomen cookiesThese cookies look like all kinds of wonderful.  The Melted Snowman Cookies from Home is Where the Boat is are simple yet adorable!

Dad's Choice:

This guy won't be making it in the kitchen for baking, but he'll show up for eating. I'm always happy to bake for him.  Thankfully he doesn't eat too much, so there will be plenty for everyone.  He wanted a mash up of two cookies...

Christmas Sweets - Chocolate CrinklesThese Chocolate Crinkles from Simply Recipes make the cut just about every year.  This year though, another chocolate cookie caught his eye...but he wan'ts it rolled in powdered sugar!

Christmas Sweets - Chocolate Yummy Cookies

Don't these look amazing?  Roxana's Home Baking's Soft & Chewy Chocolate Fudge Cookies won't be around long.

My Choice:

So I've saved the best for last.  Well, not really, because I really haven't met too many Christmas sweets that I don't like. I just wait for everyone else to make their choices and then pick what I really wanted them to pick each time.  This year it was all about the peppermint for me...
